The Committee chaired by Central Gem MCA, Hon. Sylas Madingu, held a consultative meeting with the Busia County Assembly delegation, geared towards exchanging notes on how to effectively enhance the quality of health services in the two neighboring counties.

In his welcoming remarks, Hon. Madingu appreciated the visit by the team from Busia saying that such exchange programs have the prospects of nurturing effective governance across counties.

“This kind of visit is of weighty importance as it enriches collaboration and exchange of knowledge and best practices among counties, “remarked Hon. Madingu.

The Busia delegation sought to among others, understand the strategies employed by the County in operating the Facilities Improvement Fund, the structure of accident and emergency services, the strategies and protocols for ambulatory referral services from level 2 facilities and the county referral structure.

The meeting was also attended by officers from the County Department of Health Services.
