IN THE MATTER OF CONSIDERATION OF A MOTION ON REMOVAL FROM OFFICE BY IMPEACHMENT OF THE CEC MEMBER FOR TRADE, ENTERPRISE, COOPERATIVES AND INDUSTRY – GRACE AGOLA
INVITATION FOR SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION, MEMORANDA AND PETITIONS ON REMOVAL FROM OFFICE BY IMPEACHMENT OF THE CEC MEMBER FOR TRADE, ENTERPRISE, COOPERATIVES AND INDUSTRY – GRACE AGOLA
WHEREAS, Article 196 (1) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 requires the County Assembly to facilitate public participation and involvement in its legislative and other business;
AND WHEREAS a Motion for the removal from office by impeachment, of Grace Agola, the County Executive Committee (CEC) Member for Trade, Enterprise, Cooperatives and Industry, in accordance with Section 40 (2) of the County Government Act, 2012, was moved in the County Assembly by Hon. Fredrick Omoro – MCA, on Tuesday 1st April, 2025;
IT IS NOTIFIED for members of the public that; pursuant to Section 40 (2) of the County Government Act, 2012, that the Motion seeks to remove the CEC Member for Trade, Enterprise, Cooperatives and Industry – Grace Agola, on the grounds of:
- Gross violation of the constitution or any other law
- Incompetence
NOW THEREFORE, in compliance with Article 196 (1)(b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, the Clerk of the County Assembly of Siaya invites the public to submit comments, information, memoranda and petition on the Motion seeking to Remove from office by Impeachment, Grace Agola, the CEC Member for Trade, Enterprise, Cooperatives and Industry.
The comments, information, memoranda and petition should be hand delivered to the office of the County Assembly Clerk, at Siaya County Assembly Buildings in Siaya or emailed to clerk@siayaassembly.go.ke to be received on or before Monday, 7th April, 2025 at 11:00AM
Members of the public and the CEC Member for Trade, Enterprise, Cooperatives and Industry – Grace Agola, are further invited to attend a meeting of the Select Committee investigating this matter, scheduled to take place on Tuesday 8th April, 2025, at the County Assembly Chambers at 10:00AM, where the CEC Member shall be accorded the right to be heard on all the allegations raised in the Motion
