IMPEACHMENT MOTION LAUNCHED AGAINST CECM FOR WATER, SANITATION, ENVIRONMENT, CLIMATE CHANGE AND NATURAL RESOURCES

Pursuant to Section 40 of the County Governments Act, 2012 and Standing Order 73 (2) of the County Assembly of Siaya Standing Orders, the Chairman of the House Committee on Water and Natural Resources Hon. Justus Oguta, has this morning given Notice of Motion for removal from office of Dr. Julie Caroline Phoebe Adhiambo Akinyi Onyango as the County Executive Committee Member for Water, Sanitation, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources on the grounds of gross violation of the Constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct.
In line with Section 40(2) of the County Governments Act, 2012, the Motion is supported by 39 out of the 42 Members of the County Assembly and is due for consideration by the House on Thursday, 16th March, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
