The initiative seeks to promote the holistic development of children through coordinated interventions in health, nutrition, early learning, child protection, and responsive caregiving.

During the engagement, the Secretariat briefed the Assembly leadership on the Nurturing Care Framework for ECD and reviewed progress made in the implementation of ECD related interventions across the region.

In his remarks, House Speaker George Okode emphasized the importance of involving the County Assembly in the legislative process, particularly during policy formulation, implementation, and resource allocation through the budget-making process.

Members of the County Assembly underscored the need to strengthen collaboration between the Assembly and the County Executive in advancing ECD priorities. They highlighted the importance of sustainability measures, policy and budget alignment, and effective oversight responsibility.

The Secretariat reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a strong working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure the healthy growth and development of children within Siaya County.
