SIAYA: Friday, 11th November, 2022

Day 2 of vetting of persons nominated for positions of County Executive Committee Members has started this morning with Mr. Sylvester Odhiambo K’okoth – CECM Nominee for the Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, Food, Livestock and Fisheries taking the seat.

He told the vetting committee that if approved, he will invest in mechanization of agriculture; champion for the subsidy of farm inputs, seed and fertilizers and also strengthen extension services in a bid to boost up the County’s food security.

He also underscored the need to harvest rain water and employ irrigation to improve food production as a means of curbing the effects climate change.

The approval hearing is being conducted by the Committee on Appointments chaired by Speaker George Okode.
