MEMBERS OF THE UGUNJA AND BONDO MUNICIPALITY BOARDS TAKE OATH OF OFFICE

Hon. George Okode, Speaker of the County Assembly together with several Members today joined H.E the Governor as he presided over the swearing-in of members of the Ugunja and Bondo Municipality Boards.

The swearing-in of these members signifies that Bondo and Ugunja towns have officially been upgraded to municipalities in line with the Urban Areas and Cities Act 2011.

The conferment of municipal status for Bondo and Ugunja will go a long way in ensuring service delivery is brought closer to our people.

The Municipality Boards exist to oversee the affairs of the municipalities; promote and undertake infrastructural development services within the municipalities; facilitate and regulate public transport and to promote a safe and healthy environment.
