In line with the provisions of Article 179(2)(b) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, read together with Section 58A of the County Governments Act, 2012 and the County Assembly of Siaya Standing Orders, the House Committee on Appointments Chaired by Speaker George Okode has today conducted approval hearings for the five-member panel nominated by Governor Orengo to oversee the competitive process of getting the new Siaya County Public Service Board Chairperson.

All the nominees appeared before the Committee where they shed light on who they are, their qualifications and what they intend to do in the event that their nomination to the Selection Panel is approved by the Committee.

The Committee is expected to table its report on the suitability of the nominees in the House next week.
