CHIEF OFFICER NOMINEE APPEARS BEFORE FINANCE COMMITTEE FOR VETTING

The County Assembly Committee on Finance, Trade, Industry & Cooperatives Development chaired by West Asembo MCA, Hon. CPA Mark Okeyo has this morning vetted CPA Leonard Ochieng Jaber, the County Chief officer nominee for Finance and Economic Planning.
The nominee holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor Degree in Commerce with a bias in accounting (First Class Honors) from Egerton University.
The nominee has 30 years’ wealth of experience in the portfolio he is seeking, having previously worked at Egerton University as an accountant and currently holds the position of deputy finance officer at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.
He assured the committee that if given a chance, he will improve service delivery by ensuring that he operates with the confines of the law.
He further assured the committee that he will blend his experience with the operations of the county and vowed to consult at all time for the smooth running of the County. He further stated that with regard to payments, he will act in accordance with the law in considering and prioritizing payments.
The Committee retreats for report writing and is expected to table a report in the House on the suitability of the nominee.
