In line with the provisions of Section 58A of the County Governments Act, 2012, the House Committee on Appointments Chaired by Speaker George Okode has today conducted approval hearings for the three persons nominated by Governor Orengo as members of the Selection Panel for the recruitment of the Chairperson of the County Public Service Board.
The three nominees appeared before the Committee this morning where they shed light on who they are, defended their suitability for the job, and opined what they intend to do in the event that their nomination to the Selection Panel is approved by the Committee.

First nominee to appear before the committee was Mr. Ambala Fred Edward Otieno. An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Ambala pledged that if approved, he will endeavor to ensure that the recruitment process of the next Chair of County Public Service Board is above board as envisaged by the law.
The second nominee to be vetted was CPA. Risper Olick who was nominated as a representative of the private sector. While interacting with the committee, the nominee told Members that if approved, she will ensure that the county gets the right person to chair the County Public Service Board.
The last nominee of the day was Ms. Gladys Olambo Okoth who has been nominated to represent the workers union. If approved, she underscored her commitment to cultivate the spirit of collegiality among members of the Selection Panel.
The Committee is expected to table its report on the suitability of the nominees in the House next week.
