HOUSE APPROVES FINANCE AND ECONOMIC PLANNING CHIEF OFFICER NOMINEE

The County Assembly has APPROVED the nomination of CPA Leonard Ochieng Jaber as the Chief Officer for the Department of Finance and Economic Planning.
In a unanimous decision, the House voted to adopt a Report of the Committee on Finance, Trade, Industry & Cooperatives Development recommending the approval of the nominee.
While moving the Motion for adoption of the Report, West Asembo MCA, Hon. Mark Okeyo, elucidated that the decision had been preceded by a thorough scrutiny of the nominee’s professional and academic credentials, in addition to his integrity and demonstrated knowledge of the finance sector.
The nominee holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor Degree in Commerce with a bias in accounting (First Class Honors) from Egerton University.
He has 30 years’ wealth of experience in the finance sector, having previously worked at Egerton University as an accountant and currently holds the position of Deputy Finance Officer at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.
The latest development now paves way for H.E the Governor to formally appoint CPA Leonard Ochieng Jaber as the County’s Chief Officer for the Department of Finance and Economic Planning.
