KAGONYA SECONDARY SCHOOL HISTORY STUDENTS VISITS THE COUNTY ASSEMBLY

Form Four History and Government students from Kagonya Secondary School together with their teachers today paid a visit to the County Assembly to have a practical learning session on the roles and operations of the County Assembly.

The educational visit to the Assembly was meant to enrich the candidates knowledge and understanding and enable them relate the theoretical class work and the practical sessions as they prepare for the fourth coming KCSE Examinations.

The 45 form four students were enlightened on the mandates of the County Assembly as the legislative arm of the County Government, the law making process, structure of the devolved system of government, procedure of taking oath of office by Members of the County Assembly, election of the Speaker and the roles of the Assembly Leadership among other aspect of their coverage.

The students also had the privilege to visit the County Assembly Chambers where they learnt about how the Plenary is conducted and roles of various sectoral committees.

The County Assembly of Siaya is open to all. Schools that wish to visit the Assembly for learning purposes can place a formal request through the office of the County Assembly Clerk indicating their preferred date of visit.
