HOUSE APPROVES NOMINEES TO THE BONDO AND UGUNJA MUNICIPALITY BOARDS

Pursuant to the provisions of the Public Appointment (County Assemblies Approval) Act 2017, the County Assembly has approved the persons nominated by H.E the Governor for appointment as members of the Ugunja and Bondo Municipality Boards.

In a unanimous decision, the House approved a report of the Select Committee on Lands, Physical Planning, Surveying and Housing noting that the nominees had met the prerequisite qualifications, complied with all the laid down requirements and proved beyond any reasonable doubt to be competent individuals.

Those given the nod to serve as members of the Ugunja Municipality Board are:-

1. Ambassador Elkana Odembo
2. Lucy Achieng Sianga
3. Millicent Nelly Achieng’ Ogode
4. Moses Okoth Omondi
5. Maureen Atieno Odhiambo
6. Dickens Okungu Okelo
7. Joseph Owino Odemba

Those approved to serve as members of the Bondo Municipality Board are:-

1. Ismael Noor Onyango
2. Alice Atieno Ouko
3. Dr. Joshua Otieno Agola
4. Loice Adhiambo Otieno
5. Enos Oketch Ruong’o
6. Dr. Beatrice Akoth Owino

Among other roles, the Municipality Boards exist to oversee the affairs of the municipalities; promote and undertake infrastructural development services within the municipalities; facilitate and regulate public transport and to promote a safe and healthy environment.

The latest development now paves way for H.E the Governor to formally appoint the nominees as members of the Ugunja and Bondo Municipality Boards.
